Ashley W. Downs, M.S., CCC-SLP, is a speech-language pathologist in North Carolina with a decade of experience providing diagnosis and treatment of speech, language, and cognitive disorders to both geriatric and pediatric populations across a variety of settings. She is licensed by the North Carolina Board of Examiners for Speech-Language Pathology and has her national certification from the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association. Ashley is passionate about empowering patients and caregivers to effectively communicate and supporting functional communication for all people.

Julianne Scanlan, MSPT, is a certified and licensed physical therapist with over 20 years of experience working in pediatrics in a school-based setting and pediatrics and adults in an acute care setting. She obtained her bachelor’s degree in clinical science and her Master of Science degree in physical therapy from Ithaca College. She also has a post-graduate School Building Leadership certification from the State University of New York at Albany. She works at Utica University assisting in teaching pediatric physical therapy coursework. She is a trainer for therapeutic crisis intervention in schools (TCIS) and is certified through Cornell University. She currently provides school-based physical therapy services to students ages 5 to 21 years in New York state and provides regular continuing education to the staff to promote improved independence and safety for students with wide ranging disabilities. A portion of her caseload is supporting deaf and hard of hearing students and programs, and she is working toward becoming fluent at sign language.

Marla Seymour, OTR/L, is a certified and licensed occupational therapist in North Carolina. She received her degree from Louisiana State University Medical Center and has over 23 years of experience, spending the last 13 years as a school-based occupational therapist. She started her career at Johns Hopkins University Hospital working as an acute care therapist serving adults who sustained neurological injuries and has also worked as a pediatric outpatient and early intervention (ages 0 to 3) home-based therapist. She is currently an area lead therapist in the second largest school district in the state of North Carolina and has special interest in leading school-based social skill groups addressing interoception and executive functioning skills.

Susan Almon-Matangos, MS, CCC-SLP, is a certified and licensed speech-language pathologist with over 30 years of experience. She obtained her bachelor's degree in psychology from Jacksonville State University and her Master of Science degree in speech-language pathology from The University of Alabama. She worked with clients of all ages and a variety of diagnostic conditions in school, hospital, skilled nursing facility, outpatient clinic, and home health settings. In her previous role as a national clinical director for Aegis Therapies, she created training programs for physical therapy, occupational therapy, and speech-language pathology related to the clinical rehabilitation needs of older adults in post-acute care. She currently draws upon her expertise in her role at Relias as Lead Subject Matter Expert Writer for Speech-Language Pathology. She is a certified member of the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association and the Pennsylvania Speech-Language-Hearing Association.
